What is a Nonprofit Statement of Activities?
A nonprofit statement of activities (also known as a statement of financial activities or income statement) that summarizes your organization’s revenue, expenses, and change in net assets for a given year. It’s useful for staff members, donors, and board members who rely on this data to make informed decisions about your nonprofit.
The statement of activities is one of the four financial statements that nonprofits are required to compile each year, along with the statement of financial position (or balance sheet), statement of cash flows, and statement of functional expenses. All of these reports inform your organization’s annual tax return (IRS Form 990) as well as various other financial activities.
