The Nonprofit Excellence Awards with NPCC
Founded in 1984, the Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York, (NPCC) has spent more than 30 years working to improve the nonprofit community in New York. Every year, they offer nonprofits in the New York City Area (Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau County, Suffolk County and Westchester County), an amazing opportunity. Don’t miss your opportunity to participate in the 11th annual Nonprofit Excellence Awards.
There is zero fee to enter, and three chances to win big. Over $60,000 in rewards go to the top three organizations, as well as tuition scholarships to attend the Columbia Business School Executive Education Programs in Social Enterprise.
However, even if you aren’t one of the big winners, this is an excellent opportunity to have your nonprofit’s management strengths and weaknesses assessed by an expert selection committee. After each stage of the selection process, you’ll have a chance to request the insight and feedback on your organization. This outside source of evaluation can provide you valuable insight into your organization.
The selection process
The application and awards process focuses on your management track record and the results you’ve achieved. The areas of focus include:
- Your governance structure
- Your overall management focus—including results and impact
- How you excel at financial management
- How diverse and inclusive your organization is
- Are human resources valued? Developed?
- Your use of IT systems to improve and advance your mission
- Strategic communications and strong brand development
- How you develop your resources and fundraising strategies
A selection committee with decades of experience will evaluate your nonprofit fairly according to the criteria above.
The application process begins with a Readiness Assessment and part one of the application process, the deadline for this portion of the assessment is 5:00 pm on Friday, the 21st of April. To begin the application process, click here.
